This was truly a revelation. I was getting started with funeral doom, working on something with my headphones on... Then came Déluge... my jaw actually dropped, I stopped what I was doing and, wide-eyed, just listened to the track, baffled and amazed. After the album was over (I never do this), I went to lay down with my headphones to enjoy it over again.
I rarely heard (and felt) this much power and emotion in an album. Until I find something better, this is my landmark for peak funeral doom. fluo
V - Agnus Satani poursuit la numérotation qui caractérise les opus de Merda Mundi mais c'est un nouveau départ pour le one-man band de Déhà qui obtient enfin son premier album (ce n'est pas explicité, mais avec ses quarante-deux minutes, ce chapitre est plus long que les autres). Si la production rappelle celle de I, c'est un nouveau black metal ouvertement sataniste qui se profile : Déhà construit une église noire, proclame la gloire de l'Agneau luciférien avec de splendides chants grégoriens. Entre Yhdarl, Merda Mundi et Imber Luminis (et je pourrais en citer d'autres), Déhà aura déserté Aurora Borealis pendant cinq ans. Navigation choisie sur un océan de dépression ou noyade malgré lui dans les ténèbres ?
Quoiqu'il en soit, Déhà répond à l'appel de la Lumière, omniprésente sur L. : elle est solaire ("C'è Luce Qui"), nuancée sous l'effet des orages ("Rainlight"), pure quand Déhà nous fait passer au-dessus des nuages ("I Want You to be Free"). Un post-rock d'une grande légèreté ! Jordan Vauvert
