Jordan Vauvert Le premier cauchemar dronesque plaçait la barre assez haut en terme d'obscurité. Humainly Sick est quant à lui traumatisant. Le drone est désormais teinté d'un funeral doom metal suicidaire avec l'ajout d'une batterie plombée ("When Even the Flesh refuses the Light", "When The Unfair Betrayal Still Lives On") et de paroles macabres sur trois pistes. La guitare est corrosive, tranchante comme la lame d'un rasoir, sonnant parfois presque comme le rotor d'un hélicoptère — aucun espoir d'envol... Favorite track: Dismembered Sun, I Call For Thy Dawn.

This was truly a revelation. I was getting started with funeral doom, working on something with my headphones on... Then came Déluge... my jaw actually dropped, I stopped what I was doing and, wide-eyed, just listened to the track, baffled and amazed. After the album was over (I never do this), I went to lay down with my headphones to enjoy it over again. I rarely heard (and felt) this much power and emotion in an album. Until I find something better, this is my landmark for peak funeral doom. fluo

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

La traversée du désert n'aura pas duré quarante jours mais quatre longues années... Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Sa vision est englobante : les mélodies, la gravité et le silence font toucher le paradis ; l'agressivité est luciférienne. Jordan Vauvert
